About WoW Retail Gold
Current retail, the Midnight expansion. Millions of gold per order and by far the cheapest gold on this site per thousand. All 77 realms are listed above with live offers, Area 52 the cheapest of them. Every rate comes from the seller who posted it, not from us.
Retail gold is abundant, since a single Mythic+ week can net more than a vanilla character earns in a month, so the price per thousand is measured in fractions of a cent. What costs money here is the sheer quantity people need.
Gold never moves between versions of WoW. Inside retail it does move: the Warband Bank carries gold between your own characters on any realm and either faction within your region, so the realm you take delivery on decides the price rather than trapping the gold. Pick your realm and the offer card prices it exactly, hand-off surcharge included, before you send anything.
What your gold buys here
- A BoE from the auction house — often 500,000g and up
- Full crafting order with sparks — 200,000–800,000g
- Mount or transmog off the AH — whatever the market says that day
Where gold actually goes in Midnight
Midnight added two of the largest gold sinks the game has ever shipped, and both of them are cosmetic, which means they have no gear-power ceiling to stop you spending.
- Player housing1,000g plot, 11,000g to 200,000g to furnish
- The plot itself is deliberately cheap: 1,000g paid at the neighbourhood sign, no bidding, no upkeep, no losing it if you take a break. Furnishing is where the money goes. A casual setup is roughly 10,000g of vendor decor in a weekend. A home you would actually show someone runs 50,000 to 100,000g over two to four weeks. Collectors going all in pass 200,000g and treat the auction house as a second job. Blizzard also sells decor for real money through Hearthsteel at 100 per dollar, which tells you what they think the gold equivalent is worth.
- Transmog outfit slots162,650g for twenty, 2,012,650g for all fifty
- Midnight moved transmog onto gear slots instead of individual items, so upgrading a piece no longer wipes the look you set. That saves gold. It was replaced by a larger sink: the first two outfit slots are free, the first twenty cost 162,650g between them, and unlocking all fifty runs to 2,012,650g. Slots are shared across your Warband, so it is one bill covering every character you own, and switching between saved outfits is free once you have paid it.
- Gear upgradesDawncrests plus a gold fee at every rank
- Valorstones are gone. Upgrading now costs Dawncrests and a gold fee at each rank across the Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero and Myth tracks. One character is manageable. Gearing a Warband multiplies the gold side of it by however many alts you actually play.
- Crafting orders and sparkssix figures per slot in a fresh season
- Commissioning a crafted piece means paying the crafter, supplying or buying the rare reagents, and sinking a spark you only get so many of. Early in a season, when everyone wants the same slots filled, the market sets prices that make a single commission cost more than a week of normal income.
- Consumables, enchants and socketsper week, per character
- Flasks, potions, food, enchants and gems are a recurring weekly bill for anyone pushing keys or progressing a raid tier. They scale with the number of characters you take seriously, not with how good you are.
- Repairsthe invisible one
- A progression night is dozens of wipes, and each one damages every piece you are wearing. Repair costs on a bad night reach thousands of gold without a single boss dying.
Why players buy retail gold
Mythic+
Pushing keys means flasks, potions, food, enchants, sockets and crafted gear every single week. The cost does not fall as you improve. It rises, because higher keys mean more consumable use and more repairs. Run two or three characters and you are paying that bill two or three times.
Raid progression
Wipes are the job. Twenty attempts on a boss you do not kill still costs a full repair bill plus the consumables you burned getting there. Guilds that go broke stop flasking, and guilds that stop flasking stop progressing.
PvP
Every season resets the gear treadmill. Enchants, sockets, upgrades and respecs across a season add up, and they add up twice if you switch specialisation, because different builds want different stats, which often means a different set entirely.
Housing
Unlike everything above, housing has no cap. There is always another piece of decor, another upgrade, another room. It is the first system in WoW designed to absorb unlimited gold, and it is doing exactly that.
Professions
Crafting at the top end is gated by rare materials and expensive recipes far more than by skill points. For most players, gold is the actual bottleneck in a profession, not time.
How buying gold here works
Six steps, no account needed to see prices, and nothing asked of you beyond a character name and an email.
- Pick your realm and amountOpen an offer and the card prices it as you type the amount: the rate, and the surcharge if you pick the faster hand-off. Nothing is hidden until checkout because there is no checkout gate.
- Choose how you take deliveryIn-game mail costs nothing extra and needs you to do nothing at all. Face-to-face in a capital is the fastest and adds 4%. An auction-house buy-out adds 6% and covers the house's own cut.
- Send the orderCharacter name, realm, faction and an email. That is the complete list. No account, no password, no authenticator code, not now and not later.
- Your rate locks for 20 minutesIf the realm re-marks lower inside that window you pay the lower price. If it re-marks higher, you still pay what you were quoted.
- A courier is assigned from held stockWe are not going farming at this point. The gold already exists and the float shown against your realm is what we are drawing from.
- Take delivery and confirmLarge orders arrive split across several hand-offs over a few days rather than one enormous transfer. If we miss twice the posted time for your realm, the order refunds in full without you opening a ticket.

Character name and email, nothing more. No Battle.net login, no password, no authenticator code, ever.
Questions worth asking
How much does WoW Retail Gold cost?
It varies by realm, because every realm is a separate market. Area 52 is currently the cheapest. Each realm's rate sits in the list above, posted by the seller who set it.
Which Retail — Midnight realm has the cheapest gold?
Area 52 is the cheapest listed at the moment, and on retail that is a real option rather than an academic one: the Warband Bank moves gold between your own characters across realms and factions inside your region.
Is Midnight gold the same as retail gold?
Yes, two names for one currency. Midnight is the expansion live World of Warcraft is running right now, so gold on a Midnight character is retail gold. Sellers label the category either way.
We say retail because that is the word that separates it from Classic, where the gold really is different and cannot cross over. Whichever name you searched for, if you play the live game on a current realm, this is your page.
Can I move Retail — Midnight gold to another version of WoW?
No. Every version of WoW runs a separate economy with separate characters. Retail — Midnight gold stays in Retail — Midnight, and no transfer, token or trade moves it anywhere else.
How do you buy WoW gold without getting banned?
The risk cannot be reduced to zero. Blizzard's End User License Agreement prohibits trading in-game currency for real money, and accounts caught doing it can be suspended or closed with the gold removed. Anyone promising a ban-proof method is selling you something.
What lowers the risk in practice: take sensible amounts rather than one enormous transfer, accept delivery from held stock instead of a freshly botted farm, split large orders across several hand-offs over a few days, and never give account details to anybody. We do the first three by default and will never ask for the fourth.
Where is the safest place to buy WoW gold?
Judge a seller on three things. Does it hold stock, or take your money and go farming afterwards, which is the difference between a two-hour delivery and a two-day wait. Does it publish rates and remaining stock openly rather than quoting privately. And does it ever ask for account access: a legitimate seller needs a character name and nothing else.
What do you need from me?
A character name, its realm and faction, and an email for the invoice. Nothing else. Your Battle.net login, password and authenticator codes are never part of this, and anyone asking for them is not us.
What if the gold never arrives?
Full refund if we have not delivered within twice the posted time for your realm. Partial fills refund pro-rata on whatever has not landed, at the rate you paid.
